I was looking for coffee maker that would heat the water to 195-200°, which I've read is the temperature needed to make good coffee. The Breville does that. It makes really great coffee. The hopper holds enough beans for about 2 or 3 pots of coffee. You can set the coffee maker for one of seven different strengths and from one cup to a whole carafe and it automatically grinds the appropriate amount of beans. Or, if you prefer, you can set it to use pre-ground coffee. It also has a clock and programming feature with auto start, but I haven't used that yet. I really like the stainless steel carafe. It keeps the coffee hot for along time, you don't have to twist the top in order to pour the coffee and it doesn't drip or dribble when you pour. Like any coffee maker that grinds the beans, you have to clean it occasionally. Not cheap, but well worth the money if you like good coffee.Review by Mark (on 12/16/13)
Easy to use- coffee tastes great. The programming alone is worth it.Review by Kim (on 10/15/13)
This machine makes an amazing cup of coffee! I love that I can customize the flavor, strength & quantity being brewed.
The display is easy to understand, and even though there are a lot of buttons, it's very easy to program.
There are quite a few parts to take out and wash, but they come out and go together quite easily.
The grounds basket needs to be emptied after every use. That task can be a tad messy but it's worth it for the quality of the coffee!
