Melissa officinalis Lemon balm. Hardy to 20 degrees F, sometimes colder. Herbaceous perennial. Native to the Mediterranean, Russia, Syria, Iran and Turkestan. This is a classic medicinal tea herb. Assists in controlling high blood pressure, migraines, hysteria, melancholia, goiter, hyperthyroidism and Grave’s disease.

Planting & Care
Soil & Water: Prefers full sun or shade; normal garden soil and minimal water.
Planting & Growing: Lightly scarify seed, sow seed on surface, barely cover with soil, then press in firmly and keep evenly moist and in the light until germination, in 10-40 days. Thin or transplant 1-2 feet apart. Pinch tips to create a bushier growing form.
Harvesting & Storage: Best to harvest before flowers open. Can be used fresh or dried.
