Johansen Ranch is located in Orland, California, which is the northern most location where citrus grows successfully. Organic citrus farmer Rich Johansen is the fourth generation of his family to grow fruit on this land acquired nearly 100 years ago. Rich, and his wife Mila, had enormous foresight and in the 1970's persuaded the family to grow organically and now the ranch is completely organic. For the Johansens, farming organically and sustainably is about respecting their land for its gifts of fertile soil, clean water, and a wonderful growing climate. They exemplify good land stewardship and are actively committed to the protection of agricultural land for future generations.
