This biennial leek has a mild, sweet, oniony flavor. The plant has hardy blue-green leaves, and thick, 7"—10" stems which blanch snowy white. Good for fall and winter harvesting and grows quickly. Leeks prefer well-drained, limed soil that is rich in organic matter. Either fill a 6"—8" trench with compost and fill up the trench as the leeks grow, or plant at surface level and hill them up. Many gardeners mulch the ground heavily in winter and harvest directly from the ground as needed.

You should read this before you order! Order transplants early because supply is limited and only available between mid-October and mid-November. They are perishable and must ship as soon as they are harvested, so your order cannot be cancelled unless we locate another buyer. Also, the varieties & quantities you order may not become available at the same time, so plan to accept delivery as plants become available. This can result in additional shipments of back-ordered items at a higher cost, so inform us when you order if you will not accept any adjustments to shipping charges, so that any backorders will automatically be cancelled.
