It's all about symbiosis
Pro-Mix 'BX' is a "General Purpose" peat based growing medium that contains Mycorise® Pro, a beneficial mycorrhizal inoculum (Glomus intraradices).
These microscopic fungi attach to and colonize root systems working in symbiosis with plants, Endomycorrhizal fungi benefit the host plant by increasing acquisition of water and nutrients (especially Phosphorus, Copper and Zinc) by forming an extensive mycorrhizal root system. In exchange, the plant provides soluble sugars to the fungus. This symbiotic relationship between fungi and plant results in overall improved plant growth.
Pro-Mix 'BX' is compatible with a wide variety of ornamental plant species, fruit crops and most vegetable transplants.
Uses
Bedding Trays
Transplant seedlings/plugs directly into bedding trays filled with moistened Pro-Mix 'BX'
Pots and Hanging Baskets
Pro-Mix 'BX' is suitable for annuals, bulbs, flowering and foliage plants.
Propagation
Cuttings from foliage, flowering, herbaceous and woody plants can be rooted directly into moistened Pro-Mix 'BX'
Perennials
Suitable for perennials and garden mums. Transplant roots and small seedlings directly into moistened Pro-Mix 'BX'
