Raphanus sativus
Annual cool season cover crop. Daikon is a Japanese word meaning "large root." Member of the mustard family, it is also used to open up soils and improve water penetration with its long, deep, thick taproots. Plant in early spring or fall, germinates quickly, grows to 24"-36" high. Very attractive to beneficial insects. Seed at 15-20 lbs/acre or 1 lb/1000 sq.ft.
