Pisum sativum var. sativum Hardy Annual Mammoth Melting snap pea pods are used like snow pea pods. The thick, stringless, 4"—5" flat edible pods encase creamy-white seeds. It is high yielding, early, uniform, and wilt resistant variety. The pods are excellent for stir-fries, steaming, freezing, or eating fresh.Soil & Water: Peas are not particular about soil, but prefer those with plenty of added organic matter and a pH pf 5.5—6.8. Provide moderate water until bloom, then lower the water rate. Planting & Growing: Peas perform best in cool weather between 60—75°F; growing season may be extended using shade cloth or frost fabrics. Presoak seeds to help prevent disease and to speed germination. This pea's wilt resistant 4'—5' tall vines should be trellised.
