Brassica oleracea (Capitata group) Biennial The blue-green, round heads of Invento cabbage are very cold tolerant and especially good for northern climates. The 7"—8" diameter heads weigh 5—7 lbs. Delicious when raw in coleslaw or other salads, it is also an excellent addition to soups and casseroles, or pickle.Planting & Growing: Start indoors 8 weeks before last frost, or outdoors March through June. Fast growing or stressed cabbages tend to split and bolt; cutting into the root system will slow growth and prevent splitting. Provide transplants with cutworm shield collars. Harvesting & Storage: Late-storage types keep up to 6 months at 32ºF and 98% humidity. When cutting heads from the stem, leave a few outer leaves to prevent bruising during storage. Did You Know? Cabbage is high in vitamin C, folate, and antioxidants. Sun/Shade: Full sun, Planting Depth: 1/2"—1", Spacing After Thinning: 24", Soil Temperature: 60—85°F, Days To Germinate: 5—12, Days To Maturity: 58, Height At Maturity: 8"—10" Seeds/unit 8125
