Floatable, waterproof, with replaceable electrode. Microprocessor-based for easy calibration. Instructions included. Measures available nutrient level in units called ERGS (Energy Released per Gram of Soil, as defined by Carey Reams). ERGS are mobile ions of fertility upon which plant growth depends. For most crops, the soil's conductivity or mobile ion reading should be between 50 and 500 ERGS. Higher levels are required for top production, especially during active growth phases. ERGS meter can also test fertilizers, soil amendments, and compost to determine the most effective fertilization strategies. A must for all farmers!
