A perfect variety for the home gardener. Very adaptable, not dependent on the amount of daylight per day. Nice flavor, great in soups, stir fries and stews.

  • Easy to grow with good yields
  • Thick blue-green leaves with large white stems
  • 12–14” stalks
  • 75 days to maturity
  • Approximately 25-35 transplants per pound
  • Will withstand some frost (32°F to 20°F), but will not overwinter in colder areas

Leeks prefer well-drained, limed soil that is rich in organic matter. Either fill a 6'-8' trench with compost and fill up the trench as the leeks grow, or plant at surface level and hill them up. Many gardeners mulch the ground heavily in winter and harvest directly from the ground as needed.

You should read this before you order! Order transplants early because supply is limited and only available between mid-October and mid-November. They are perishable and must ship as soon as they are harvested, so your order cannot be canceled unless we locate another buyer. Also, the varieties & quantities you order may not become available at the same time, so plan to accept delivery as plants become available. This can result in additional shipments of back-ordered items at a higher cost, so inform us when you order if you will not accept any adjustments to shipping charges, so that any backorders will automatically be canceled. Sorry, we cannot make any special exceptions. Transplants ship separately, so figure shipping separately. Sold in 1 lb increments. Shipping weight = net weight of product + 10%.

AVAILABLE TO SHIP MID-OCTOBER TO MID-NOVEMBER. For additional product, shipping & availability information, see below. Due to quarantine issues, we cannot ship this product to Idaho.
