About Our Wildflowers
These are the best wildflower seeds money can buy, at the best prices you'll find anywhere. All of our mixes (except Meadow in a Can) contain 100% wildflowers and no grass seed, unlike cheaper blends. Note: substitution of similar varieties may occur depending on availability and season.
Growing Wildflowers Fall and spring are the best times to plant wildflowers. Wildflowers grow best on sites with full sun, low nitrogen, low fertility and with existing stands of shorter grasses for soil stabilization. Above all, they must be protected from heavy weed competition. To speed germination, put your seeds in the freezer for 1 or 2 days, then thaw for 1 day, repeating the process 3 to 4 times. Broadcast at 1/4 Lb per 1,000 sq ft, or 125 seeds per square foot, and plant to a depth of 1/8" to ¼". Many wildflowers are drought-tolerant once established, but they must receive adequate water for their initial growth.
