About Our Cover Crop SeedHere are some important facts you will want to know about our cover crop seed: Genetically modified organisms PVFS sells no genetically engineered seeds or inoculants. Fungicides No fungicide-treated cover crop seed is sold unless specifically noted. Human consumption Our cover crop seed is not food grade. Seed for human consumption has special handling requirements which these seeds may not meet. Excellent Quantity Discounts when ordering more than 500 lbs of any seed or mix, call our commercial sales department for a special quote. Rhizocoated* means that the seeds are already inoculated with a Nitrogen fixing bacteria. Rhizocoated seed is heavier than raw seed, resulting in less seed per pound. This is why coated seed is generally less expensive. Raw means that the seeds are not rhizocoated. All legumes need inoculant, so be sure to order the appropriate one if your seed is raw. Inoculants are inexpensive and easy to use. See Seed Inoculants section.
