| | Educational Resources | Organic Trade Association (OTA)- The Organic trade association (that PVFGS is a member of) represents the organic industry in Canada and the United States. Their goal is to encourage global sustainability through promoting and protecting the growth of the diverse organic trade. www.ota.com.
Rodale Institute- The Rodale institute is a non profit organization located in Pennsylvania. It traces its roots back to the Soil and Health foundation, founded by J.I. Rodale in 1947. The Rodale institute promotes regenerative agriculture, defining the link between farming practices, soil health and human health. www.rodaleinstitute.org
Master Gardener's- The University of California (UC) master gardener program is one of many throughout the United States and Canada. Since 1972, when the first master gardener program started in Washington state, the program has 45,000 volunteers, who share and disseminate the information that they have learned. The purpose of the master gardener program is to extend research-based, scientifically accurate information to the public about home horticulture and pest management. Pesticide Action Network- Pesticide Action Network North America (PANNA) has campaigned to replace pesticides with ecologically sound alternatives since 1982. They link over 130 affiliated health, consumer, labor, environment, progressive agriculture and public interest groups in Canada, Mexico and the U.S. to promote healthier, more effective pest management through education, media, demonstrations of alternatives and international advocacy campaigns. www.igc.org/panna
Center for Agroecology & Sustainable Food Systems Program- The Center of Agroecology and Sustainable Food systems is a research and education group at the University of California, Santa Cruz. On the UCSC campus, the Center operates the 4-acre Alan Chadwick Garden and the 25-acre farm.
