Biological Bait for Grasshopper Control This bran bait is not harmful to animals, people, plants and other insects, but kills most species of grasshoppers by infecting them with Nosema locustae, a parasitic protozoa. Grasshoppers will spread the disease among themselves by eating sick hoppers and by laying infected eggs.

I bought the 25 lb bag 2 years ago and put out half of it around the perimeter of my 15 acre place, garden house. I put the other half of it out 2 weeks later. At first I thought it was not working. I had already read that it takes a while. I'm just now seeing grasshoppers back in my area. Some friends just a mile away are over run with them. I really wanting another 25 lb bag but not available today. Didn't bother my chickens, cows, dog, or family.Review by Chris (on 6/29/13)
