Medium-sized onion. Good keeper, but does not store quite as long as the yellow onions. Reliable variety with flattened bulbs and a mild flavor. Slow to bolt. Each bulb can weigh more than 1 lb. White papery wrap and a slightly sharp, clean, flavor. Used extensively in Mexican cooking. Matures mid-season. Biennials grown as annuals, and easy to grow from sets. Plant 1 deep and 1-3 apart. Harvest young plants for use as scallions, thinning to 3-4. Our onion sets are US #1 grade, the best domestic quality. Sold in packs of 100 onion sets.
