Q: Desert Gardens

Do you have any recommendations for a vegetable garden in the low desert region?

Can you please be more specific?

Do you mean: What vegetables do well in a desert climate?

Or do you mean: Tips and tricks for growing in the desert?

Thanks!

I guess I mean both.  We are new to the desert recently moving from PA.  I would love to know what grows well here both through the winter and during the summer months.
I have tomatoes and peppers growing now.  How often should they be watered?  What kind of suppliments does the sandy soil need?  What time of year can I grow lettuce and spinach?

“Take a look at the post here about gardening in sand.”

I’d also check out your local Master Gardeners’ extension they usually have the most growing knowledge for your specific area.
