A healthy pond reduces the potential for weed and algae growth.

PureBacteria+ is blend of strains of naturally occurring beneficial bacteria that are selected for their dynamic enzyme production capabilities.

This blend produces critical amylase, cellulase, lipase, urease and protease, extracellular enzymes essential to the degradation of various organic compounds including proteins, starches, carbohydrates, cellulose, urine, fats, oils, greases and other organic substances. Fish waste, decaying algae, leaves and other organic matter are digested and the nutrient load feeding weed and algae growth is reduced.

Ponds have a life cycle. Every pond is an ecosystem that is impacted by the surrounding environment. The scientific term is eutrophication, which is a natural process that occurs in an aging lake or pond as that body of water gradually builds up its concentration of plant nutrients and muck. Artificial eutrophication occurs when human activity introduces increased amounts of these nutrients, which speed up plant growth and eventually deplete the lake of its animal life. With fertilizer runoff, fish waste, decaying vegetation building up over time, every pond owner faces this natural muck building process. Algae blooms, excessive weed growth and fish kills are typical symptoms of the problem.

Bacteria occur naturally in a pond. Their job is to digest decaying organic matter. OrganicPond's strains of beneficial bacteria are able to consume many times the decaying matter as those occurring naturally. By adding bacteria you reduce the nutrient load/muck over time resulting in a balanced pond eco-system with less algae and weed growth.

PureBacteria+ is the only OMRI listed muck reducer available. It can help your pond be healthier by balancing the nutrient load. Not an algaecide or herbicide, the bacteria actually break down and "digest" organic matter. Apply early in the season as soon as water temperatures reach 50 degrees, and continue treatment monthly throughout the season. pureBACTERIA+ is safe for people, pets, plants, fish and wildlife. There are NO water use restrictions.

One quart treats one surface acre of water with an average depth of 4'. See below to calculate for your specific situation.

After consulting the label and then calculating how much to use, simply pour the product into the pond at several points along the shoreline.

Water Volume of a Square or Rectangular Pond

Length X Width X Avg. Depth X 7.5 = Gallons

Water Volume of a Round Pond

(r is the radius- the radius is the distance from the center to the edge)

Multiply the X above by 3.14 = A

Multiply A by the average depth of the pond, then by 7.5 = Gallons

One acre foot = 325,851 Gallons
