Semi-dwarf on OHxF333 rootstock.

Zones: 5-8

Chill hours: 800

Harvest: July 15 - August 1

Looks: Yellow skin with attractive red blush.

Personality: Especially flavorful, smooth flesh.

Facts of note: Fire blight resistant. Great early ripening pear. Heavy-bearing tree. Introduced in 1982 from the Harrow Agricultural station in Ontario, Canada.

Pollination: Pollinated by Bartlett, Bosc, and D'Anjou.

European pears are late blooming, tolerant of heavy wet soils, and a good choice for many areas. Susceptible to codling moth and some to fire blight. Plant at least two varieties for best results. Harvest 3rd year. On OHxF333 semi-dwarf rootstock. Trees left unpruned reach 2/3 of standard (about 12-18'). By pruning, keep any tree to any size.

Please Note: Although most of our bare-root trees arrive to our warehouse in mid-December, there are a few varieties -- Mulberry, Pecan, Persimmon, Quince, and Walnut -- that will not arrive until mid-January. If you order any of those varieties along with varieties that arrive in mid-December, your order will be delayed for shipment until mid-January unless you ask us to split your shipments and agree to pay any additional shipping charges resulting from two separate shipments.

Check out our Fruit Tree Harvest Chart to plan for successive harvests.
