In the pages of Placer County Real Food you'll meet the farmers of Placer County, California and learn about the food they grow for local Farmers Markets.
The cookbook answers the age-old question, What's for Dinner? with 52 weekly menus including more than 300 in-season recipes, all accompanied by beautiful photos and stories from growers and community members.
So many people are out of touch wit the sources of their food - who grows it, how it evolves from seed to stem, how it's harvested, packed, and sold.
Joanne and Laura are convinced that if we understand the sources of our food, and we know the people who grow it, we will get more enjoyment from it, and after eating fresh, nutritious food at home, we'll feel better.
Farmers Market food is locally grown, freshly picked, and healthy. Cook some tonight, with these recipes!

I'm excited to start using this book as a guide when I go to the Farmer's Market. It's great to see all the local produce, but I was in a similar quandary to the authors...what to do with it all. They offer delicious, simple recipes for each week of the year, using what is available at the Farmer's Market. What a great idea!Review by Casey (on 12/26/13)
