Notes:

Watercress - Nasturtium officinale

Tender Perennial Crisp and wonderful in salad and sandwiches, this member of the
brassica family has been eaten and cultivated for over three millennia. Like its mustard cousins it has crisp leaves with a tangy flavor. Grows in USDA zones 1-5 as an annual and in USDA zones 6-9 as a perennial.

Soil and Water: Watercress loves to grow in rich, soggy soil high in organic matter. It can also be grown in a stream or a bucket with standing water.

Planting and Growing: When growing it as an annual- sow seeds indoors before frost, harden off and transplant after frost. When growing it as a perennial- sow indoors, or direct seed after frost, keeping soil very moist.

Harvesting and Storage: Cut like any other green. Best eaten soon after harvest.
