Planting & Care
Soil & Water: Work a small amount of bone meal and wood ash into soil prior to planting. Keep vines well weeded. Water and mulch to conserve moisture - watering at base of plant only to prevent mildew.
Planting & Growing:Plant seed in well worked soil with full sun exposure in early to mid-spring. Sow seeds 1 inch deep and 2-3 inches apart in rows or bands 2 feet apart. Provide supports at planting time to support 5 foot tall vines.
Wet cold conditions may affect germination. Replant if first sowing is not even. Sow again for a fall crop before the first fall frost.
Harvesting & Storage: Harvest when peas are well formed in their pods. Eat soon after harvest for best flavor.
