Easy, huge, & excellent Review by HEIDILIOUS

2011 - I planted my first garlic, "Music Garlic", from organic seed stock from Peaceful Valley. I planned ahead, bought and planted enough for my own seed stock for planting in Fall 2012. We harvested our Music Garlic in July 2012! WOW! Excellent huge heads/cloves.

What I did differently than advised.... I plant garlic in a 12 inch wide trough planting garlic cloves in a "X" pattern.

With about 10 inches between cloves and surrounded with verma-compost, soil, topped with mixture of horse manure, sawdust, & straw. The thick layer/mixture of horse manure, sawdust, & straw which blankets the garlic through winter, keeps weeds out and invites major growth.

Now I know that's not quite right, but my music garlic heads were huge, 4 to 5 inches in diameter! The cloves practically peal themselves and are the biggest cloves I have ever seen.

This year I will do my crop rotation and I will sprinkle with kelp meal.

Thank you Peaceful Valley for all your information and organic seeds stock. You make master gardeners out of all of us humble amateur garlic grower.

To all garlic growers, GOOD LUCK!

Been growing Music for 5 years. Best spice flavor for Pesto. Large bulb, easy to peel. (Posted on 9/16/11)

Large cloves, vigorous growth Review by Michele

Music was easy to grow (I am in Snohomish County, WA in the Pacific NW). It grew more quickly and had much larger heads than any of the other garlic types I grew. Dries well, with a good mild flavor. I was able to save it through the winter to plant again in the spring. (Posted on 8/19/11)

Tasty Garlic Review by Steph the Photographer

This garlic was easy to grow, tasty, and stored well. It was wonderful to have my own stash of delicious home-grown garlic for the winter months. The cloves were huge, even if a specific bulb wasn't that big it had good sized cloves. I had no problem with curing it even though I'd never grown garlic before and all I had to go on was the growing guide that came with the garlic. It kept so well had some to plant again next year.
