I started herbs, flowers and veggies in these this year, VS soil blocks. I prefer the speeding trays to the soil blocks. Would like to know is there is something that can be sprayed on to the cells to ease getting the transplants out of the cells. (Posted on 5/13/12)

I have a small hydroponics farm so I turn out a fair amount of seedlings every year. I have tried literally everything on the market. I use damp-off as a medium and place them on a heat mat - with the speedling tray covered with saran wrap. My germination rate is about 99% and typically the seedlings emerge in 3-7 days; at the most, for summer vegetables and flowers. If you are careful you can cut them up in more manageable numbers - I cut them up in sixes then number them --its really a fool-proof system. (Posted on 8/30/11)
