The Peacotum is "Interspecific" meaning it is a complex hybrid of a peach, plum and apricot. This cross was developed by Floyd Zaiger, the father of Pluots and Apriums, using the natural methods Zaiger Genetics Inc. is known for. After a decade of we taste the fruit; his first three fruit cross. The flavor is something like fruit punch although it inherits most of its flavor from the plum and apricot with its flesh quality coming from the peach. Trees are 2 years old and should begin to fruit in their 4th or 5th year. Citation Rootstock is tolerant of wet soil, induces early dormancy in dry soil, is very winter hardy, resists root knot nematodes, and produces a 12'-18' tree. By pruning you can keep your tree at any height.
Please Note: Although most of our bare-root trees arrive to our warehouse in mid-December, there are a few varieties -- Almond, Mulberry, Walnut, Persimmon, and Jujube -- that will not arrive until mid-January. If you order any of those varieties along with varieties that arrive in mid-December, your order will be delayed for shipment until mid-January unless you ask us to split your shipments and agree to pay any additional shipping charges resulting from two separate shipments.
