The DUPLO has two separate water lines that are each programmable to water up to three times a day. The timer has a digital display operated by three push buttons that allow the user to scroll through various options. With these push buttons, the user is able to enter the frequency and duration of watering on any number of days for seven days a week.

The water timer was easy to assemble and install. However, its programming was not user friendly. Programming the timer required closely following the instruction manual. Even after experimenting with different watering schedules and programming and reprogramming the timer over the course of several days, we still found it difficult to use the DUPLO without constantly referring to the manual.

Once programmed, however, the timer was a beautiful asset to our garden. Its ability to schedule multiple watering each day on either line was of great benefit.

Another critique is that the timer is limited to manual watering in 15-minute increments only. In order to water for longer than 15 minutes, you have to wait for the current 15-minute cycle to be done before restarting the timer for another 15 minutes. It seems that a digital timer should have options for multiple time settings such as 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, etc. instead of a fixed 15-minute interval.

Overall, we are pleased with the DUPLO. We were able to leave on a week long vacation without worrying about whether our drought resistant plants were being over watered or our water-loving vegetable garden was being under watered. We were able to independently program each line to water each type of plant accordingly. Though we found the programming to be challenging and the 15-minute manual watering unnecessarily restrictive, the DUPLO more than makes up for these limitations in its versatility.
