We've made quite a few batches of 'kraut several sizes of open crocks before making the decision to add a Harsch crock to the family. Yes, they are a little more expensive, but the quality is well worth your investment. They are really well made. I love the way the handles are formed into the crock, and I love the simplicity of the two piece weight stone it comes with! The Harsch water channel design that the lid sits in makes it possible to ferment without the chore of skimming and worrying. I love the airlock! The batches it's turned out have all been absolutely incredible in flavor and so trouble free! (Posted on 4/26/13)Rating
