I 've grown couple of these last year in a raised bed, one of split and produced another bulb. I just pulled them out of the ground. They are the best tasting onions we ever had, they are to die for. We did not bake ours because we wanted to experience the full taste. They are sweet and very good with salads and hamburgers. I wish they were more affordable.
