Planting & Care
Soil & Water: Sow seeds in well worked, fertile soil in full sun. Be sure to keep soil evenly moist and well weeded. Mulch to conserve moisture and suppress weeds.
Planting & Growing: Plant throughout the spring a month apart and again in mid to late summer. Space seeds 1 inch apart in rows 8-10 inches apart, or broadcast thinly over bed. Cover 1/2 inch and firm soil over seed. Space 1-2 inches apart to allow room to mature.
Harvesting & Storage: Use tender early thinnings and continue to thin gradually to mature scallions an inch or two apart. Best harvested at 10-12 inches tall or before they send up bloom stalks.
