Sub-tropical fruit and drought tolerant. The sweetest develop when the daytime temperature regularly exceeds 95°F. Thrives in most soil types, as long as it's well-drained. Mature trees are hardy to 15°F. Will re-grow from roots if winter-killed. Grows to 25' tall and 40' wide if not pruned. Figs need warm soil for their roots to start growing.
Figs do not like to be planted as bare-roots and are difficult to establish, so we sell these No. 1 size trees (2' to 2½') in pots to enhance their survival rate. Trees are 1 year old and should begin to fruit in same year you plant them.
All our dormant trees (except Pecan trees) and berries come with a limited replacement guarantee.
For best success, be sure to choose a tree that will grow in your USDA zone, has an appropriate number of chill hours for your climate. If a pollinator is needed, make sure they're planted within 50 feet of each other and will bloom at the same time. Finally, what are your desired harvest intervals (all at once for canning or spread out for fresh eating)? Enjoy!
