European Pears are late blooming, tolerant of heavy wet soils. Asian Pears The flavor and sweetness of pears with the crunchiness of crisp apples. Pears are cold hardy, drought resistant, and heat tolerant. Both are susceptible to fire blight & codling moth. Plant 2 varieties for best pollination.
On semi-dwarf OHxF333 rootstock which is widely adapted, disease resistant, and will grow to 12'-15'. Trees are 2 years old and should begin to fruit in their 4th year.
Selecting the Perfect Tree For best success, be sure to choose a tree that will grow in your USDA zone, has an appropriate number of chill hours for your climate. If a pollinator is needed, make sure they're planted within 50 feet of each other and will bloom at the same time.
