Seed Potatoes

Please read before ordering:

Our potatoes are certified seed potatoes & certified organic

Find traditional favorites here! All are certified organic and all varieties are certified seed potatoes. If you're tempted to purchase grocery store potatoes to use as seeds, be aware that they will probably make very poor seeds as they are usually treated with anti-sprouting agents to extend their shelf life. We offer many of the most sought after varieties, and our own exclusive Red, Yellow & Blue/Purple Mix.

Seed potatoes cannot be allowed to freeze

Your order may be held until weather conditions allow for safe delivery to your location. Orders can’t be cancelled after they’ve shipped.

Available from late October until early June

There is a big window for purchasing seed potatoes.

About organic seed potato

  • One pound of seed potatoes will plant a row approximately 8' long with seed pieces spaced at 8"–12" apart.
  • Plan on 1,200 lb/acre (600 lb of fingerlings) when rows are spaced 36" apart with 12" between plants.
  • Under optimal conditions, you can expect to harvest 10–15 pounds of potatoes for every pound of seed potato planted.
  • Fall-planted spuds produce outstanding yields by May. If your area experiences hard winters (USDA Zones 1–7), or you tend to have long, wet spring seasons when rot might be a problem, plant potatoes in the spring.

Limitation of Remedy

We warrant, to the extent of the purchase price only, that the seeds or plants sold hereunder are as described on the label within recognized tolerances. No other warranty is given, expressed or implied, of (1) the merchantability or fitness of the seeds or plants for any particular purpose, or (2) against loss due to any cause. We cannot accept any responsibility for the many uncontrollable growing and climatic conditions (soil preparation, fertilization, weed and pest control, temperature control, irrigation…etc.) that must be met to ensure the success of your crops or plants.
