Sesamum indicumWarm season legume cover crop. When used as a cover crop that is tilled into the soil, can be effective in controlling the nematodes prevalent in hot climates with sandy loam soils. Sesame is an allelopathic cover crop in that chemical residues resulting from decomposition have been shown to be detrimental to nematode populations. Seed at 1-5 lb/acre or 1-2 oz/1000 sq ft. (No inoculant required.)
