While Speedling Trays are designed to be used with air circulation space beneath to air prune plant roots, a drain tray is required to capture water when trays are set-up indoors.
Michael, at the Peaceful Valley store, clarified how to make these trays work. The water level has to be high, so the trays float on top. Once they float for the first time, and the water level is about an inch above the Styrofoam, the water wicks ups perfectly. Thanks to Linda and Michael!Review by Paul (Again) (on 3/5/15)
This tray is designed for boots, and not Speedlings. You cannot bottom water with this tray which renders it pretty much useless for anything other than capturing water. Also, the tray is larger than the speedling Styrofoam trays themselves, which is not a space saver.Review by Paul (on 3/2/15)
This came with a giant sticker that suggested it was a boot tray. It was not made for speedling trays and is too large for them. The ridges help drainage, so that's a plus. On the other hand, you can't bottom water. I would not get them again.Review by Picci (on 5/24/13)
