The fitting you need to take drip tape runs off 1/2" poly tubing at a 90 degree angle. Loc Sleeve end inserts into drip tape and is secured by twisting the lock over the end of the tape. The small barbed end punches into the side of the poly tubing.

Drip tape must be used on low pressure (5-15 psi), achieved by installing a pressure regulator. Drip tape needs to be on flat runs (no greater than 3% if sloped) and no longer than single runs of 450 feet. The more level the ground and the shorter the run, the more even and uniform the water flow.

I bought all the pieces needed for a large garden drip tape installation. I was happy with all the components except for these. They leak like crazy! My garden beds are nice and moist from the drip tape but my walkways are flooded because of these fittings. The barb on the end is a bit larger than a normal 1/4 inch drip fitting but they weren't much more difficult then usual to press into the 1/2 inch tubing. I will probably toss the 50 fittings I bought and buy some from somewhere else. These are the first thing I purchased from GrowOrganic I was disappointed with.

1st - do not even think about using these if you don't have a 1/4" punch. If you think you have a 1/4 inch punch, check and then check again then ask at least 3 people in the store to make sure you have a 1/4" punch. That big ole' green thing I just spent $10 on is not the thing despite what Trisha does. Just trying to insert these boogers in the header cost me hours of time and wrecked fingers and my children learned all sorts of new words. Also - they leak like sieves through the threads once you actually get it hooked up. Trisha must be a magician - I certainly don't have her touch.
