Planting & Care

Soil & Water:Weed water and thin carefully and feed monthly for best results. Consistent moisture is necessary, especially for summer growth.

Planting & Growing: At midsummer or early fall in mild climates, sow seeds in a sunny bed 1/4 inch deep and 1 inch apart. Gradually thin to 12 inches apart to allow heads room to mature. If temperatures are above 80 degrees, sow seeds in containers in a spot out of direct sun, but with bright light all day. Tend carefully and transplant out when a few inches tall and have several sets of leaves.

Harvesting & Storage: Pick entire rosette when fully formed and firm.
