Description

Ships via FedEx Overnight to a street address only (no Post Office box).

Neoseiulus californicus, Mesoseiulus longipes, Phytoseiulus persimilis, Galendromus occidentalis and Neoseiulus fallcia are all predatory mites that have quite an appetite for various other mites that afflict plants.

Please provide us with your growing conditions: indoors, outdoors, temperature/humidity. We supply this information to the insectary and they use their expertise to select the most appropriate species of predatory mite for your circumstance.

  • Use 1 mite per 25 pest mites or 1,000–10,000 per acre. For greenhouses; 2 mites per square foot, or 2 per plant.
  • Release in the late evening the day they arrive. Place on the infested plants.
  • If absolutely necessary, can keep in a cool dark place for not more than 2 days, but it is best to release within 18 hours of receipt.

Price DOES NOT include delivery. Ships via FedEx Overnight to a street address only (no Post Office box).

Insects are sent out Monday through Wednesday. Place your order at least 3 business days in advance of desired shipping date (Monday holidays will delay processing of order). Unless you specify otherwise, we will send your Beneficial Insects on the next possible shipping day. You could also request delayed delivery in the Order-Specific Comments box. We can only accept ship dates up to three weeks out.

These are shipped with cold packs in warm months. Do not be alarmed when the cold packs arrive warm or melted, as this will not affect the viability of the product. However, these creatures may die if left in direct sunlight or in a rural mailbox on a hot afternoon, or in cold weather. We only guarantee viability if someone accepts and inspects the insects immediately upon delivery. You must contact us immediately upon delivery if you suspect a viability problem.

Because of this, often the best address to use is a work address. If FedEx is instructed to leave the package in a cool, safe place and it’s for a short period of time, viability should not be compromised, but cannot be guaranteed. If no one is available and no instructions have been left, delivery may be re-attempted the next business day. However, viability may be compromised and will not be guaranteed.

Best thing against mite infestations!

Want to cut out all the fuss and really attack the problem, get these! If you're dealing with a heavy infestation of spider mites (for me, they were heavily attacking my tomato plants and Goji berry) these will do the job! You wont find these guys directly in stock at a garden center. They will have a form you have to buy and then mail out to get the predator mites. Depending on the company they might deliver to your house.
Either way, I have tried using the insecticidal soaps, and the spraying of water on the under side of leaves to try and take down the mites. Unfortunately, especially in the summer time, these spider mites kept coming back with a force. You may have to buy these more than once if you use them in the summer. Since from what I can find the predator mites do not enjoy hot temperatures.
Still, you will be amazed at how well these little guys work at taking down the problem.

Positive!

I have had trouble finding these little guys locally the last few years and I swear they are a major help in the orchard.
Everything I ordered from you arrived quickly and was nicely packaged.
