Planting & Care

Soil & Water:Prefers full sun and well drained or sandy soils and has high tolerance for alkalinity.

Planting & Growing: In the spring, scarfiy seed by rubbing vigorously with sandpaper and pot into pots. Barely cover seed, tamp well and keep warm, moist and in the light until germinate (up to 3 weeks). Work up to successively larger pots and when large enough transplant into garden at 4 foot spacings.

Harvesting & Storage:Harvest root during dormancy after 2 to 3 years of growth. Wash thoroughly, slice into thin sections and shade dry.
