Planting & Care

Soil & Water: Arugula likes moderately fertile soils with plenty of added organic matter and a pH of 6.0-7.0. Water moderately and evenly.

Planting & Growing: Sow seeds indoors fall to spring, or sow seeds directly as soon as soil can be worked. Plant every 2 weeks for a continuous harvest for as long as cool weather lasts. Begin planting again in fall for fall and winter harvests.

Harvesting & Storage: Continuous harvest of young leaves stimulates further leaf production. The flowers are also edible but gather them before opening to prevent reseeding, or allow flowers to go to seed for a hearty reappearance in early spring.

Very good arugula

Since we like arugula so much I buy in the 1/4lb size. I have had excellent results. You really get the peppery taste with this variety. So much better than store bought. The only time I can't grow it (even with shade cloth) is in late summer-August and September.
