Gypsy moth (Lymantria diaspar) is an invasive insect that escaped from a silkworm breeder in 1869 who was experimenting. Adult Gypsy moths exist only to reproduce. Use this kit to catch flying males before they can mate with females. Females do not fly, they crawl crawl short distances onto any nearby object where they lay an egg mass. One mass can produce up to 1,000 caterpillars capable of destroying millions of acres of trees.
