Sow the seeds directly into the soil at the recommended depth of 1/4 to 1/2 inch. Cover the seeds lightly with soil and ensure consistent moisture during the germination period. Thinning is essential once the seedlings emerge, ensuring they have ample space to develop. Maintain the recommended spacing of 2 to 3 inches between plants to foster robust growth.
Care and Maintenance
Watering: Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry spells, but avoid waterlogged conditions to prevent rotting of the roots.
Weeding: Regularly weed the area around the carrots to prevent competition for nutrients and space.
Mulching: Applying a layer of mulch can help retain moisture and regulate soil temperature.
Fertilization: Use a balanced fertilizer according to the instructions to support healthy growth.
Harvesting Chantenay Carrots:
Harvesting time for Chantenay carrots usually falls around 75 days after planting. However, you can gauge their readiness by observing their size and color. Gently pull them out of the ground, ensuring minimal damage to the roots.

Planting & Care
Soil & Water: Chantenay grows well in heavy or shallow soils, retaining its shape well, but will also grow in light, deeply tilled soils with plenty of added organic matter, good drainage, a pH range of 6.0-6.6, and regular water. Apply a mulch layer once established to keep roots cool.
Planting & Growing: Seed directly into 75F soil for quick germination. Mix the small seeds with dry coffee grounds or sand to improve seed distribution. Over planting requires thinning to provide sufficient growing room.
Harvesting & Storage: You may need to loosen soil to pull carrots without breaking off tops. Trim off foliage to extend storage time. Layer roots in a container with damp medium and store in cool, moist conditions.

Grow and germinate well. I have fairly heavy clay soil and they have done well in in.
The carrots germinated well. They are an inch tall and growing well. I'll have to get back here about the taste later.
I've never been a big fan of snacking on carrots because the ones you buy in the store are always so bland, but these are delicious. We've grown them every year for the last 3 years. Use lots of sand to keep them from growing in funny shapes, and don't use too much organic fertilizer or you'll just get a bunch of green tops with underdeveloped carrots. Other than that, very easy to grow and really yummy.

from 9285 reviewsI've ordered from other companies, so I was expecting about the same size garlic. But these are huge! Very nice garlic, full and very large.
I've ordered from other companies. What surprised me was the size if the shallots. Other companies send me things that are very small.
This is a new grow for me and the bulb size is legit! I'm excited for this one!
Nice healthy bulbs, good size
I've bought this variety of garlic from Grow Organic for the past three years - the quality and yield is always excellent.
No complain about this garlic.
Few days after shoot out of the ground and looks exelente!
The tree arrived securely, and I immediately planted it in a 5 galon pot. It is thriving now, and I hope to plant it in the ground probably next year, or the year after the next. Four different olive varieties that I bought three years ago from this same site are already bearing much olives, from which I cured many jars and I am already enjoying them. This website is my first trusted venue to buy trees that I could not find in the nursery store.
Planted these radishes late in the season and they are wonderful
The nasturtiums that I planted last season from Grow Organic are still blooming in November! I love the variety of colors
I really appreciate this softneck garlic!!
Thanks for the great and fast order,
The chickens really like the trsti g ot so I know to cover the larger rows
I was pleasantly surprised how perfect my Shallots came. They were very plump and no blemishes or tears in the outer skin. Would definitely purchase from Grow Organic again and will recommend to friends and neighbors.
We love this garlic. We've planted this variety several years in a row and haven't been disappointed. It's a great producer and has a flavor we love. We've watered and have gotten some rain here in Eastern Kansas and it is up and looking beautiful. Looking forward to harvest!
I was surprised@how big the shallots are! I can't tell if I need to break them apart? I'm fixing to plant them. The garlic is all in the ground on time, the deer try to eat the tender little green tops poking thru the soil
Nice, large bulbs with nice cloves for planting. Excellent quality.
...always order it.
