Planting & Care

Soil & Water:Prepare soil in beds with well aged manure or compost. Mulch plants to maintain moisture.

Planting & Growing: Start seed indoors in early spring about 2 months before outside temperatures are consistently above 55 degrees. Sow seed 1/4 inch deep and 1 inch apart in a container of starting mix. Keep moist but not soggy and very warm (80-85 degrees). Provide strong light until seedlings are ready to transplant outdoors. When seedlings are 2 inches tall, transplant to individual pots and maintain heat at 70-75 degrees. Feed with half strength liquid fertilizer every 2 weeks until acclimatizing them to outdoors. Plant out 2 feet apart in full sun.

Harvesting & Storage: Cut peppers from bush wearing eye protection and gloves.
