Summer Romance Alyssum Flower Seed Mix

Summer Romance Alyssum Flower Seed Mix

Long Season Bloom

Alyssum - Summer Romance - Lobularia maritima

Annual - Summer Romance forms a tapestry of soft color in shades of lavender, violet, rose-pink and white. The 4 - 6" plants are soon covered with blossom clusters that literally cloak the ground with pretty colors. The little flowers have a lovely perfume that floats on summer breezes and sweet nectar that attracts gliding butterflies and many other pollinators and beneficial insects to your garden. This fine Dutch seed blend grows easily and reliably with a long season of bloom.

Planting & Growing:Sow seeds as thinly as possible in early spring in well-worked soil in a sunny spot. Cover 1/4" deep and keep evenly moist while awaiting germination. Thin or transplant carefully 3 - 4" apart when seedlings are large enough to handle, or before they become crowded so these fast-growing plants have room to mature and spread. In mild winter areas, sow Gulf Winds alyssum in the fall around bulbs, in containers or to cover bare areas. Plants overwinter to bloom all spring in a pretty carpet of pastel shades.

Harvesting & Storage: Plants stay compact and don't get rangy. After the first flushes of intense flowering are over, cut plants back halfway to re-bloom abundantly.

Soil Temperature: above 50°F
Planting Depth: Very lightly
Germination: 10-14 Days
Height At Maturity: 4-6"
Sun/Shade: Full Sun
Spacing After Thinning: 3-5"
Approx Seeds per Pack: 500 Seeds
