Another fine alternative use for sustainable and renewable coconut shells. Use these coarse chips for mulching, hydroponics, or growing medium for bromeliads and orchids.
It's pH 5.2-6.5 is ideal for potting amendments. Chips are about 1/4" X 1/2". Long lasting material wets and rewets easily and releases water evenly as chips dry out. Densily packed in a bale approximately 12" X 12" X 5". Once loosened up and watered, This material will expand to 2.1 cu ft or approx. 5 fold in about 5 minutes.
