Maggot barriers are a brand new concept to protect apples, pears and Asian pears from infestations of the apple maggot fly and codling moth. One easy application to fruitlets early in season is all that is needed. Eliminates use of plastic or paper bags, traps or pesticides. 144 maggot barriers/bag. Made of 100% earth tone nylon.
The time it took to put these on our Asian pears was well worth the effort. No worms. I plan on reusing the mesh again this year making the investment worth the purchase price.Review by salmongirl (on 3/23/15)
These bags worked great. They are a little bit of a pain to put on, but they sure work good. I have tried spays and traps and they are even more of a pain to use because you have to reapply several times threw out the season, and they are more expensive and my apples still had worms. But not when I used the Maggot Barriers.Review by stugunu (on 3/14/15)
We have used these bags for about 5 years and have had wonderful success keeping the apples worm-free. I like the idea that we are not spraying chemicals on our food. We only have 3 dwarf trees so the energy/time expenditure is not overwhelming.Review by hatemaggots (on 2/25/14)
used 300 last year, not a single pear or apple had any bugs! When u apply the sox, u thin the surrounding fruit, getting much larger fruit at harvest. A lot of work, but way better than sprayReview by suchaluckydoc (on 2/19/12)
We used these bags last year and found them very effective. A bit of trouble to put on, but it's a one-time expenditure and we' had beautiful, tasty organic apples! The year prior to their use all our apples were ruined by the apple maggot.Review by greenthumb (on 7/9/11)
