Seed potatoes cannot be allowed to freeze. Once frozen, the potatoes will be unviable for sprouting.
Potato orders placed from anywhere in the US by October 31 will ship as soon as they arrive (see ETA above). Orders can’t be cancelled once they’ve shipped.
From Nov 1st until Mid/Late Spring, we will ONLY ship potatoes to CA, OR, WA, NV and AZ. If you live outside of these 5 Western states, we cannot ship potatoes to you as they will otherwise invariably freeze during transit. While your specific state might be having decent weather, your order will travel through very cold regions from our CA location to yours. While you certainly can place your order, we will only ship it when the threat of freeze across the nation is over, which typically is in April or May.
The most popular "red" potato in Europe. Round to oblong tubers, satin-like pinkish/red skin and gourmet quality creamy-yellow flesh. Prolific yields of excellent all-around cooking potatoes. Very resistant to common diseases. An easy and very reliable gourmet potato to grow.
Excellent potato with High yields. This year with 5 lbs of seed yielded 65 lbs of beautiful and delicious tubers. You are going to love growing this one.Review by Deatons (on 8/2/15)
Vigorous and beautiful plant with fine skinned, pretty tubers! They've been excellent keepers for me, too! I planted four varieties last spring and while the remainder of the other three are starting to get rubbery and funny looking, these Desiree are still as crisp and lovely as when I pulled them out of the dirt months ago!Review by Wylfenne (on 1/23/14)
Like butter when baked. Very productive for compact plant.Review by clown (on 8/2/13)
