Persimmon Trees

Persimmon Trees

Beautiful tree in the late fall when fruit hangs on tree after the leaves have fallen. Striking, dark green leaves turn shades of yellow, orange and red.

Standard rootstock. Trees are 2 years old, and should begin to fruit in their 3rd  year. Take care not to overwater the tree after initial soaking as this can delay leafing-out.

All our dormant trees (except Pecan trees) and berries come with a limited replacement guarantee.

Selecting the Perfect Tree For best success, be sure to choose a tree that will grow in your USDA zone, has an appropriate number of chill hours for your climate. If a pollinator is needed, make sure they're planted within 50 feet of each other and will bloom at the same time. Finally, what are your desired harvest intervals (all at once for canning or spread out for fresh eating). Enjoy!

Growing Instructions Included with every order or simply download the PDF on How to Plant Bare Root Fruit Trees. When planting Persimmons it is important to remember that persimmons are not water loving plants. After the tree is planted it should be watered in with a good soaking to remove air pockets in the soil and then left alone. The plant shouldn’t be watered again until the buds start to break. Excessive watering is the primary cause of failure in bare root Persimmons.
