* FedEx defines a Business as being a bona-fide place of business with a store front and a business sign, generally open to the public, most importantly with someone present Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, to accept and sign for deliveries. Is this the case? .... otherwise FedEx will charge an additional $2.82 per package (Residential Delivery Fee) that we will have to bill you for later? In choosing Business, you accept responsibility for those possible charges if FedEx doesn't deem your delivery address to be a place of business and/or if no one is there to accept and sign for the delivery.

| Shipping | Although our shipping information and charts may seem a bit complicated at first, we want you to be sure that these charts are the best method for calculating freight at its "just and fair" cost based on weight and distance which is the method FedEx and the US Postal Service use.
As a rule of thumb, shipping charges we assess simply amount to whatever FedEx or USPS published rates are plus a nominal 15% markup to account for shipping & packaging materials. This percentage is even smaller on expedited shipments (10% on 3 and 2 Day, 5% on Next Day).
When ordering on-line, our website calculates the shipping charges automatically, giving you the options to ship via FedEx Home Delivery, FedEx Ground, FedExHome Delivery Multi Weight, FedEx Ground Multi Weight, FedEx 3 Day, 2 Day, or Next Day, and USPS Parcel Post or Priority Mail. When you order is large enough that it may cheaper to ship by truck and we will provide you with a truck quote.
See our Interactive Shipping Rate Chart to the left. |
| From Our Warehouse to Your Door | We normally ship all orders via FedEx Home Delivery to residences, FedEx Ground to businesses (regular or multi weight) or via Truck, while expedited shipments ship via FedEx Air (3 Day, 2 Day or 1 Day). On average, we ship in-stock items within one to two business days of receiving your order. If some items on your order are temporarily out of stock, we will hold your order for up to 1 week. If we expect a longer delay, we will contact you to give you the options of (a) shipping what is currently available and the back-ordered item(s) later (shipping charges will likely be higher in such a case) or (b) waiting until everything is in stock before shipping or (c) canceling the back-ordered item(s). We will always do our best to rush your order (same day shipping for orders received before noon Pacific time) if your crop is in dire need of one of our pest controls or any other critical product.
Expect the following transit time for FedEx Home Delivery or FedEx Ground shipments: 1 business day for northern CA and western NV; 2 business days west of the Rockies (southern CA, WA, OR, ID, NV, and western UT); 3 business days in the Rockies (MT, WY, CO, AZ, and part of NM); 4 business days east of the Rockies except 5 business days for SC, NC, VA, all of New England and FL. However, please note that remote rural zip codes may not be serviced daily but only 2-3 times a week.
FedEx Home Deliveries are very conveniently scheduled on Tuesday-Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. while FedEx Ground delivers Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
If shipping via truck, be aware that you must be able to accommodate a truck at your residence and that it is your responsibility to unload it. Some items cannot be unloaded without using a forklift. If unloading by hand, be prepared to off-load the pallet that holds your order in approximately 15 minutes or you may be charged an additional fee by the trucking company for the extra time (possibly up to $100/hr). |
| Receiving Your Order | When your order arrives, please check it against the packing slip. Notify us immediately of any shortages or damage.
On truck orders, do not sign for your order until you have confirmed an identical count of boxes, bags, rolls, bundles, pails, etc. and have checked very carefully for apparent and/or concealed damage. We will not accept any responsibility for missing and/or damaged items unless you note a count discrepancy and/or identify damage on the bill of lading at the time of delivery! |
| In a Hurry? | | We can ship FedEx 1 Day, 2 Day, or 3 Day Air. Before opting for air delivery, consider that in Zones 2 and 3, regular FedEx Home Delivery and Ground Shipments usually arrive in 1 to 2 days anyway, although this is not guaranteed. Be also aware that for FedEx 1, 2 or 3 Day, "dimensional weight" consideration may become a factor that could in turn significantly increase your shipping charges. With any parcel size shipped via Air, FedEx calculates the "dimensional weight" of each box in multiplying length by width by height and then dividing the result by 194. "Dimensional weight" will prevail if it exceeds actual weight. If shipping charges are going to exceed what the computer calculated based on actual weight (dimensional weight consideration can only be figured out once the shipment has been packaged) by more than 33%, we will call first to obtain your authorization. Otherwise, we will assume that you agree to pay these possibly higher shipping charges due to dimensional weight. |
| How Shipping Gets Calculated | When ordering on-line, our website calculates the shipping charges automatically.
Combinable Items: Packaged weights are indicated with each part number. Individual items weighing less than 40 lb are generally "combinable", i.e. they can be combined and shipped together in boxes weighing up to 68 lb (over 70 lb, FedEx Ground rates are significantly more expensive). Items weighing over 40 lb are heavy and ship alone to avoid damage to other products. If your combinable items total 68 lb or less, they will fit in a single box. Look up the cost for your zone that corresponds to the weight of the box using the interactive chart. If your combinable items total more than 68 lb, they will have to ship in more than one box, so please figure the cost of each box separately. For example, if the total of your combinable items is 100 lb, find the cost for a 68 lb box and add to it the cost for a 32 lb box.
Non-Combinable Items (noted as such) : Individual items that already come in their own packaging, or are too long or too big to be boxed up with other items, or that weigh over 40 lb are not combinable. Figure the shipping cost for each non-combinable item individually, then add to the cost of your other boxes. If your order is over 150 lb total, check out our great rates on FedEx Multi Weight. |
| FedEx Ground Multi Weight Lower Rates | When your order weighs over 150 lbs, our website will calculate the shipping charges automatically shipping it via FedEx Home Delivery of FedEx Ground Multi Weight.
These rates are significantly lower than regular FedEx Home Delivery or FedEx Ground. The cost is based on total weight, rather than packaged weight. Please note that minimum charges may apply. If it is even cheaper to ship your order by commercial carrier (truck), we will call you with truck quotes.
