Great to use in pathways and around landscape plants

Folded black woven weed-control fabric

Collection: Sunbelt Weed Fabric | Durable Landscape Fabric for Weed Control

Landscape fabric creates a physical barrier that helps reduce weed growth while allowing water and air to move through to the soil. Our woven weed barrier fabric is available in several widths and roll lengths for garden rows, beds, paths, and landscaping projects.

Choosing Landscape Fabric

Measure the installation area before selecting a roll. Narrow widths work well for rows and smaller beds, while wider rolls reduce seams in larger planting areas. For individual trees, shrubs, or small spaces, pre-cut squares may be easier to position.

Check each product page for the fabric weight, dimensions, UV treatment, expected service conditions, and other manufacturer specifications. Product details vary by size and item.

Common Uses

  • Vegetable-garden rows and perennial beds
  • Flower beds and landscape borders
  • Walkways and gravel paths
  • Areas covered with bark or mulch
  • Residential and larger-scale landscape installations

Installation Tips

Prepare the site by removing established weeds, sharp debris, and large stones. Lay the garden fabric flat, overlap adjoining sections, and secure the edges and seams with suitable landscape staples. Cut planting openings only as large as needed. When using mulch, bark, or gravel above the material, follow the product instructions and account for drainage and maintenance access.

Weed-control fabric can reduce routine cultivation, but it does not eliminate every weed. Windblown seeds may germinate in material that accumulates on top, and weeds can emerge at planting holes or unsecured edges. Periodic inspection will help keep the installation effective.
