Choose Bare Root Fruit Trees for Your Garden

Preorder now for winter 2027 delivery. These bare-root trees are for the upcoming dormant planting season, not immediate fall planting. Check each product page for its available-to-ship date and destination restrictions before ordering. Choose varieties using both your USDA hardiness zone and estimated winter chill, then confirm pollinizer needs and mature size.

Need help choosing trees? Use our Bare Root Orchard Planner to match your growing zone and winter chill, plan pollinizer partners, and estimate planting space.

Bare Root Tree Shipping Offer

Buy six eligible bare root trees and receive free standard shipping to the lower 48. Review the Dormant Plants & Trees Terms and current shipping policy for eligibility, exclusions, timing, and claim requirements.

Explore bare root fruit trees for home gardens, edible landscapes and orchards. Compare apples, pears, cherries, peaches, nectarines, plums, persimmons, jujubes, mulberries, walnuts and interspecific stone-fruit hybrids.

Bare root trees are shipped dormant without a soil-filled container. This makes them lighter to handle and allows gardeners to choose from a broad seasonal selection.

Choose the Right Tree

  • Climate: Match USDA growing zone and chill-hour requirements to your location.
  • Pollination: Confirm whether the variety is self-fruitful or needs a compatible tree with overlapping bloom.
  • Space: Review rootstock, mature size and recommended spacing.
  • Harvest: Compare fruit use and ripening period to plan the season you want.
