Gardening By The Moon! Understanding Planting Calendars

Saturday, May 18th 9:30am - 11:30am — $25.00

T. Turtlington, Director, The Mathemagical School of Art, Design and Natural Phenomena

Gardeners and farmers have been using the positions and movements of the moon to guide their activities for hundreds of years. Its phases, the constellations and its high and low passages are all contributing factors in what makes an “ideal time” for sowing, transplanting, cultivating and harvesting. Learn what planting calendars are available, why they differ, and how to interpret them in this introductory class! T. Turtlington is an artist, gardener and student of the stars. His classes combine science, math and a touch of the mystical, resulting in an experience that is rational, yet poetic. He is the director and head teacher at The Mathemagical School of Art, Design and Natural Phenomena.

Saturday, May 18th 12:00pm - 12:30pm — FREE (No Registration Required)

Linnie McNaughton, Peaceful Valley Nursery Supervisor and plant enthusiast

Come see our on-site nursery while it’s in full swing! Linnie will talk about the best plants for our area. Our nursery specializes in edibles, natives and deer-resistant plants.
